Here at ILO, we are incredibly excited that Michelle’s husband, Darude, has been asked to represent Finland in the the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 taking place in Israel 12th-18th of May. Most of you do not know that Darude proudly wears his Finnish wool socks, either knit by his wife or other friends and family, on stage at almost every gig he performs around the world – no matter the temperature outside – so it is only fitting that he and Sebastian Rejman have decided that they need a special pair of Eurovision themed wool socks to have with them as they compete in Eurovision this year, and they would be honored for one of YOU to design and knit them! They will choose their favorite pattern at the end of the contest, and they will wear the winning socks in Israel in May as good luck charms! The winning pattern will also be published for free, so everyone can have the opportunity to knit their own pair of Euroviisut Sukat to wear here at home in solidarity with the representatives for Finland while they do their thing on the Eurovision stage in Israel.
*Even if you aren’t a seasoned pattern writer, don’t worry – you can still enter. If your socks are selected as the winners by Darude & Sebastian, we will help edit your pattern as needed to get it ready for publishing.
Here is how you enter:
