Dotted Rays - Speckled Fade - KAL 2017

Hello hello hello!

We are soooo excited about Stephen West's latest pattern release, Dotted Rays - Speckled Fade! So excited, in fact, that we have decided to host ILO's first KAL! As Stephen would say, a "more-is-more" way to kick off 2017!

CO (cast on) day is January 7th, and we'll be hosting a Cast On Party here at ILO in Salo, Finland. Join us from 15-18.00 on 7.1 to hang out and get started on this shlanket-sized shawl together. For those of you unable to join us in person, post your own photos across socials with the hashtag, #ILODottedFadeKAL.

Dotted Rays - Speckled Fade is a speckley variation of the original Dotted Rays, with the added bonus of a Holey Chevrons border, if that tickles your fancy!

This shawl comes in Large and shlanket-sized Super Large, and calls for 5 or 6 skeins of Hedgehog - Sock Yarn, worked in a gradient to create a gorgeous Speckled Fade effect. Lystig - Merino Sock works great for this shawl as well! 5 skeins for a shawl with a garter stitch border, 6 skeins for a Holey Chevrons border. Create your own gradient following the striping instructions in the pattern. We suggest working light to dark for the best effect.

For those who already have the West Knits Dotted Rays and/or Holey Chevrons patterns, Stephen provides project notes so you can work from your original patterns without purchasing the new Dotted Rays - Speckled Fade pattern. Find the project notes HERE. So sweet of him!
